The Labour Amendment Bill sells like hot cakes

The old cliché “selling like hot cakes” held true last Friday as the Labour Amendment Bill ran out of stock soon after it was put on sale in Harare.

Usually quiescent, the ground floor office at Cecil House along Jason Moyo Street in the capital, which sells Government documents, was for some time a hive of activity as hordes of people jostled to buy copies of the Bill.

The Bill was available as a supplement to the Government Gazette, which sells for US$2.

An officer at the offices told The Sunday Mail the Bill was sold within minutes of arrival, with some people having inquired about it very early in the morning.

When the Bill was eventually availed mid-afternoon, it sold out in mere minutes.
