GOSPEL lovers were showered with musical blessings by The Vine, as they recorded their live DVD titled ‘‘The Great Physician’’ over the weekend at the Rainbow Towers.
The Vine, a 13-member group, started its music journey in 2014 and managed to launch their debut album, titled ‘‘Musandipfuure — Do Not Pass Me By,’’ the same year.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their second album was delayed.
Despite the challenges they faced in recording the second album, the group gave a top performance, supported by guest artists from South Africa, among them Mahalia Buchanan and Mabongi. Three-time Grammy award-winning group, Soweto Gospel Choir, put the icing on the cake, as they left guests clamouring for more.
Radio and television personality Rebecca Mushenje, affectionately known as Becky K, was the host of the night, as she smoothly navigated her presentation throughout the recording.
Among the VVIP guests who graced the occasion was the Seventh Day Adventist Eastern Conference president Joshua Muzira, Deputy Minister Tinotenda Machakaire, Tyra Chikocho (Madam Boss) and South African gospel musician Dr Benjamin Dube.
The night was capped off by an ecstatic performance of the song Inyange’nkulu (The Great Physician), which the audience requested for, during the night.
