Popular entertainment joint The Volt has brought a new dimension to Sunday outing in the capital.
The joint, which is along Samora Machel Avenue, has been a hive of activity over the past weeks as people from different backgrounds converge to socialise every Sunday afternoon.
The concept, which is termed ‘Bring and Share’ has become popular with merrymakers that enjoy relaxed way to end their weekends.
‘Bring and Share’ has seen people coming together to share drinks and braai, while the joint provides complementary eats like mazondo, gizzards and livers to spice up the outing.
The social gatherings that have also been graced by Harare’s ‘who-is-who’ began on a low note a couple of months ago and are fast growing into big hangout platforms.
Proprietor of The Volt, Spencer Madziya, said the concept is growing beyond his expectations.
“We started gathering in the courtyard of The Volt as friends and associates. It started as a small thing and as we realised that it was a good platform to socialise, we decided to take it on a bigger scale and invite others to come with their friends and use this space for fun,” said Madziya.
“We have had various celebrities coming here for this event. We start just after midday and people will be relaxing in the garden until more entertainment begins in the club. Our idea is to have a relaxed Sunday afternoon where people can have fun discussing various social topics.”
Last Sunday there were various famous faces in the crowd at the courtyard. While some opted to leave after before indoor entertainment started, others continued to party inside The Volt.
