Three new teams join Five-A-Side league

THREE new clubs have joined the Southern Region Five-A-side League ahead of the associationaï¿½ï¿½s 2018 action that will resume on 13 May.
Southern Region Five-A-side League chairman Philani Banda said the three clubs that are now part of their family are Emakhandeni FC, Kilmanock and Street Set which takes their total number of affiliates to nine.

Kilmanock are under the stewardship of yesteryear football great Charles Chunda. Broadcast journalist Lee Mangena is the brains behind Street Set.

aï¿½?We are glad that we welcome three new affiliates to our Southern Region Five-A-side League. We believe that this is an indication that we are moving in the right direction. We now have a total of nine affiliates ahead of the start of the 2018 season on 13 May,aï¿½? said Banda.

aï¿½?We released our fixtures programme last week and on this point of time we are working on the processing of playersaï¿½ï¿½ licences. We are looking forward to having a great 2018 season,aï¿½? added Banda.

Week One fixtureaï¿½ï¿½s programme will see the leagueaï¿½ï¿½s defending champions Bulawayo Artists do battle against fellow seasoned campaigners Nust. Emakhandeni will square it off against Flying Stars while Fox meet Amabhubesi.

Cash Money will fight it out against newbies Kilmanock. Mangenaaï¿½ï¿½s Street Set got a bye.
