Thata��s what two ladies of the night from Zvishavane must be thinking after a man who told them he was going to pay them handsomely for a three some sex act ended up stealing from them instead.
Mike Banda Mapuranga (30) reportedly hatched a plan to rob two prostitutes, Emily Taruvinga and Cynthia Joseph.
He approached them at Shiriyekutanga Bar in Zvishavane claiming he needed a threesome in order to get sexually satisfied.
The women fell for the trick not knowing they were later going to lose their nighta��s earnings,A� including their cellphones.
Pretending to be offering a serious deal, Mapuranga demanded their cellphones saying he did not want other men to disturb them while having a good time. He took their cellphones and switched them off.
After having had a few beers, he suggested that they go to Taruvingaa��s place for the good time that never was. He later turned into a monster and demanded their cash before running away.
The matter was reported to police leading to Mapurangaa��s arrest and he appeared before magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing theft charges.
Prosecutor Talent Tadenyika told the court that on 7 June, Mapuranga met Taruvinga and Joseph at Shiriyekutanga bar.
He started buying them beer and told them that it was their lucky night as he wanted to hire their services. The two ladies of the night agreed and he ordered them to surrender their phones to him as he did not want them to get calls from other clients.
Taruvinga gave her Nokia X2 phone and Joseph her HTC 2.
He then hired a taxi and upon arrival at the gate, he demanded back his money which he had used to buy beer. They gave him $8 and Mapuranga refused with their phones before beating them up and vanishing into thin air.
Mapuranga pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded in custody to 21 June for trial.
