Anne Ruthenburg Marriage doctor
Hello there people, how are you this week. This week I am doing something different, I have something for the men. This was sent to me from a man, who wanted as many men as possible to hear this. So here it is. I hope men, you take it seriously, whether you are religious or not. And I hope you teach this to your sons also.
Boys to Men
This is to Men and for Boys becoming Men
God desires for every husband and Father to courageously step-up and do whatever it takes to be involved in the lives of his wife and children. But more than just being there and providing for them, you as a father need to walk with your kids and be there from their young lives, being to them a representation of the character of God the Father in Heaven.
As a Father, you should be loving your children, seeking to win their hearts, you should be their protection and their disciplinarian. You should be teaching them about God as the Spiritual head of your own family. You should be teaching them to walk with integrity and teaching them to walk with respect. As the Father you should be teaching your children to live responsible lives, living for what matters in eternity.
Some men will hear this and mock it or ignore it. But what you will not run away from, is that as a Father (a choice you made through your engagement with the opposite sex), you are accountable to God for every position of influence he has given you. You cannot fall asleep at the wheel, only to wake up one day realising that your job or hobby has no eternal value, but the souls of your children do.
Some men will hear this and agree with it. But will have no intention or resolve to live it out. Instead they will live for themselves and waste the opportunity to leave a Godly legacy for the next generation.
But there are some men, who regardless of the mistakes they have made in the past and regardless of what their fathers did not do for them, will give the strength of their arms and the length of their days to loving God with all that they are, and will teach their children to do the same, and where ever possible, to love and mentor other boys/men who have or have not had any fathers in their lives, but who desperately need help and direction.
If you are reading this and you are courageous or at least willing to join other men in this resolution and decision to rise up and be a real man. The invitation is out right now to you as a man to make the following decision and commitment to follow through on this declaration:
By Gods grace
Make a declaration to yourself today……I will guide my family; I will teach my family to follow Christ; I will accept the responsibility to provide and protect my family; I will ask God to break the chain of destructive patterns in my family; I will pray for and bless my children to boldly pursue whatever God shows them to do; I accept the responsibility of being their father, not just in name, but in presence, action and commitment.
It is a privilege and I am honoured to be the husband to this one wife, and the father to this child/these kids. I embrace it, this is who I am.
I want the favour of God on my life and His blessing on my home. I am a man of Courage. I am a man who fears the Lord. So in front of God and man, I declare…I WILL, I WILL, I WILL……end!
Well there it is, I couldn’t have said it better myself men. It is time for men to stand up and be counted as true men and not just contributors to the human race. It saddens me when I see the rising statistics of single mothers and fatherless homes.
I am not saying every man is to blame for the circumstances they find themselves in especially with the sudden retrenchments etc; but men you and I both know that it is in your power as a man to make things work…so stop making excuses and do something. And if you have a wife who is more able than you; support her in her endeavours to support the family whilst you are incapacitated…stop being all jealous and suspicious now.
Marriage is two way and without trust you will go nowhere. It is easy I know for men who are not able to support their wives to feel useless, and shameful and suspicious….but this is your issue and should not be taken out on your wife…after all she is still with you is she not? So why beat her?
And why are you tearing her down? I takes a man to be a man…..so be a man….Mutare is waiting for its men to rise up and take their place at the head of their own family – not violently, but caringly, supportively, protectively and lovingly.
