Toast to all African women

Anne Ruthenburg Fashion & Beauty
HELLO there fashionistas, I hope you had a wonderful Africa Day long weekend, lol! I certainly had a full and encouraging weekend.
MultiChoice put together a brunch for its female subscribers and what an amazing day it turned out to be. Women from all walks of life, different races, religions, sizes, shapes and ages came together to celebrate Africa Day at Café 111. It has been a while since I have seen so many beautiful ladies in one place in Mutare. Every style of African wear was on show, from shoes to head gear, nails to make-up.

One could have been forgiven for thinking they were at a South African fashion show. The décor done by Creative Concepts was African amazing. It was done majorly in orange and black, with miniature scrape metal sculptured African Elephant vases in the centre of every table. You had to have seen it to appreciate it.

Different guest speakers addressed the ladies. Ronel of MultiChoice opened the event with a warm welcome to the ladies.

She went on to say: “We are truly proud to be part of this celebration of Africa and we know that there are other activities taking place elsewhere on the continent where our fellow Africans are celebrating their respective country’s rich culture and traditions as we are. As a business born and bred in Africa we understand the importance of preserving our culture, traditions, stories and ideas – which is why we focus on reflecting Africa back on itself through our massive investment in the film and television industries . . . MultiChoice also celebrates you, members of the fourth estate, through the CNN African Journalist of the Year Awards which recently closed for entry. We truly hope that journalists have submitted entries as this is an incredible opportunity for us, and your peers, to honour excellence in the media industry. We hope to see some winners coming from Zimbabwe.”

Today, we invite you to sit back relax and allow MultiChoice to spoil you as we celebrate Africa Day.

That is it from me folks. Until next week, God bless!
