THE Dynamos leadership have thrown their weight behind coach Tonderai Ndiraya despite the Glamour Boys’ recent struggles.
The country’s biggest, and most successful football club, have been experiencing turbulence since an ill-timed decision by the executive to suspend Ndiraya.
DeMbare lost 0-1 to Cranborne Bullets on Saturday and have picked just one point from their last three matches.
They now face champions, FC Platinum, on Sunday.
Club chairman, Isiah Mupfurutsa, said the coach still had their full backing.
“As chair, I am not aware of any meeting, we haven’t sat down to discuss about him.
“We didn’t sit down to discuss anything.
“We are fully behind him and his players. We need to rally behind them for now so that they can work on bouncing back.
“I don’t believe in stop, start, the disruptions happened when he was suspended.
“There’s too much pressure and l don’t think firing him is the best decision.
“We need to be stable and rally behind them.
“There’s need for the team and all the stakeholders to build confidence with the team.”
Reports claimed the team was set to train yesterday but the players were told they will resume training today.
“Usually after a game, the players are given a day to rest and train the day after.
“But, after this (the loss to Cranborne Bullets) they were supposed to train today (yesterday) but were told they will start training tomorrow (today).
“This doesn’t usually happen, which means there’s something brewing in the background,” said a source.
Ndiraya blamed their poor conversion for the latest defeat.
“We got countless chances and failed to put the ball at the back of the nets and then our opponents got one and scored.
“What can we do to score?
“I do want to start questioning the quality of our strikers.
“Obviously, the pressure is there because we are not winning,” he said.
