Toure: I don’t care about rest

Manchester City’s Yaya Toure says he wants to play every game for his club, and feels no need to rest. The Ivorian has played in all six Premier League fixtures for the Citizens thus far, as well as their solitary Champions League fixture, with coach Manuel Pellegrini set to rotate his players ahead of tonight’s League Cup clash against Sunderland.

The 32-year-old midfielder however insists he wants to feature in every game for his club as they target a successful 2015/16 campaign.
“The League Cup is very important,” Toure told reporters. “I’m always there for those games. I don’t want to stop and have a rest. I don’t care about rest.“For me, until I get a serious injury, Toure is fit and wants to play. I hope I play against Sunderland.

“Why rest? I look younger and I want to play more. I’m a competitor. In football it’s all about being a competitor.”
City lost their first game of the season over the weekend, going down 2-1 to West Ham United, and Toure feels that an unbeaten season, as achieved by Arsenal just over a decade ago, is impossible in the Premier League in today’s game.

“In 38 games you will not see 38 wins,” he said. “It’s impossible in the Premier League now.
“In Spain, La Liga, yes, and the French Ligue 1, maybe yes, but in the Premier League, no. You will never see that again.

“What’s important is the last game of the season and whether you lift the trophy, or have lifted a couple of trophies. That’s what matters for me.”
After Tuesday’s league Cup clash, City will look ahead to Saturday’s tricky fixture against Tottenham Hotspur as they aim to maintain their two-point lead at the top of the EPL standings. – DAILYMAIL
