MUSIC producers will tell you that in a basic recording studio, one is bound to be greeted by a set of equipment.
These must-haves include a microphone, an audio interface, a computer and a pair of studio monitors and headphones.
With this, one can record their favourite tune.
TRB Music Company does not consider itself complete with only the abovementioned.
Last year, the recording label expanded its wings to incorporate theatre and catering into their portfolio.
“Our recording stable is not just focused on music production, but branches to other artistic departments like film and theatre. As a way to keep the youth out of harm’s way and also groom local talent, we started shooting skits during the lockdown,” explained TRB Music Company Founder and Director Thaddaeus M Mavunde.
The skits, uploaded on the company’s TikTok account, serve to teach the young about every day societal issues that affect people and how to solve them.
To clear the air, TRB Music Company’s artiste manager and producer, Adept Siziba explained that the stable is not an “acting agency” but just grooms musicians signed under their stable.
He referred to a number of videos where their actors and choreographers feature.
Such an initiative saw the awarding of those who came trumps during the shooting of the skits as a way of encouraging and appreciating them.
In the various categories that were up for grabs, the following had podium finishes;
Directors and Scriptwriters: Ras Wayne Mlotshwa and Mthabisi Maphosa.
Actors: Theresa Sibanda and Frank Khumalo.
These awards were held in July this year.
Going forward, the company seeks to procure equipment to shoot more videos for their artistes. — @eMKlass_49
