Trio hacks brother in row over gossip

all over the body with an axe after accusing his wife of spreading ‘rumours’ about their late father.
The Makore sisters Rosa (32), Sylivia (30) and Stambile (18) of Hwirikwiri village in Madamombe communal lands allegedly left their brother Marachi Makore (21) for dead with injuries to the head, back and hands after the attack with a machete and an axe on Monday afternoon.

Marachi is currently hospitalised at Masvingo General Hospital where he is receiving treatment while two of his assailants fled.
Masvingo police spokesman Inspector Tineyi Matake yesterday said Rosa had been arrested in connection with the case while the other two are on the run.

“We are still looking for the other two sisters who fled after trying to kill their brother. We want to charge them with attempted murder and investigations are still continuing,” said Inspector Matake.
On the fateful day the Makore sisters allegedly summoned their brother, who lives in the same village, to their parents’ homestead where the three lived.
They confronted Marachi charging that his wife was spreading rumours about their late father which they deemed to be in bad taste.
An altercation ensued amongst the four and the three sisters allegedly started punching their brother before they armed themselves with a machete and an axe which they used to attack Marachi.
