In an uncharacteristically fiery speech at Magwegwe Hall, Prof Ncube who leads the MDC declared to scores of his party’s supporters that his MDC would be the ruling party by 2015.
Dismissing Mr Tsvangirai’s credentials to rule Zimbabwe, Prof Ncube described the MDC-T leader as indecisive saying his actions were determined by the group of people he would be with at any given time.
“When he is with white people, he sings the song and when he is black people, he says what he knows they want to hear. He even moos when he is with cattle.
“Even his own party members say Tsvangirai is a clueless politician who holds the opinion of the last person he would have spoken to,” said Prof Ncube, reiterating what Mr Tsvangirai’s senior party officials – treasurer general Roy Bennett and secretary general Tendai Biti allegedly said in the WikiLeaks expose.
He said PM Tsvangirai admitted in his book that he was sinking at the deep end.
“What do you think someone who writes a book and says he is at the deep end can do to clear the mess in this country? Someone who is already’ sinking at the “deep end” with the task of removing
Mugabe from power? Do you think he would be up to the mammoth task of rebuilding this country? He is clearly out of this depth,” he said.
Prof Ncube said another example of the PM’s ineptitude could be seen in his failure to stamp authority in the inclusive Government.
“Imagine, the GPA (Global political Agreement) gives you the power to share executive duties with the President, and you let that slide, to make history by being the first ceremonial Prime Minister in the world.
“Do you think you can solve this country’s problems, wena uvele usugalula (when you are already withdrawing)?” asked Prof Ncube.
He said PM Tsvangirai kept chanting the mantra that President Mugabe must go, but he did not have an idea what he would do if President Mugabe goes.
Prof Ncube said PM Tsvangirai’s book entitled “At The Deep End” exposed the PM for the liar that he was.
“Leading a country is like leading a burial society and it requires people who are honest and truthful. Tsvangirai wrote in his book that at the MDC’s congress in 2000, I tied votes with Gift Chimanikire for the secretary-general post.
“He claims I got the post because Chimanikire withdrew from the contest. That is a blatant lie, which can be easily proved,” said Prof Ncube.
He said the PM also lied about the cause of the party’s split in 2005, untruthfully laying the blame on the MDC’s founding chairman, the late Isaac Matongo.
“Tsvangirai blamed Matongo for calling for a vote to decide if the party should contest in the Senatorial elections. He said the vote later led to the split. That was a lie. You cannot lead a country if you are that untruthful,” he said.
Prof Ncube said the MDC had decided to avoid the vote because it was potentially divisive.
