PREPARATIONS for the music and urban culture event – Tube Festival – to be held in the scenic Vumba from April 1 to 3 are at an advanced stage, with more than 20 local and regional wheel spinners and artistes having confirmed participation. Organisers of the event, Afro Vision Entertainment, said the three-day jamboree was meant to conscientise students in schools, tertiary colleges and universities about the positive impact of art in societies in bringing people together.
Events lined up include scavenger hunt, tours, hiking, art and craft, jungle party, mud run, chisa nyama, full bar, bounce house among other things. The fiesta will be held at White Horse Inn and Blythwood.
“We are happy with the preparations so far. We have organised a rugby tournament which will feature local teams on March 19 at Mutare Sports Club to conscientise people about the Tube event.
“A litany of activities such as clash of deejays, dance competitions and braaing will be held during the day. We urge people to come in numbers and have fun while we interact and learn,” said the festival spokesperson, Valerie Mufandaedza.
Partnering companies in this year’s festival include Blue tech Electronics, Delta Beverages, African Distillers, Kings and Queens urban fashions, Spar Mutare, Whitehorse Inn and Pagomo foods.
The Tube festival is the biggest outdoor event in Zimbabwe that brings together celebrated wheel spinners, artistes and fun lovers in the country.
