Tuku goes for quartet act at Jazz 105

He has also done the same for his performances, as he has had to alternate from full band performances, solo acts and to quartet concerts, to give entertainment variations to his fans.
It is within the same spirit that Tuku will tomorrow night give a classic quartet performance at Jazz 105, in what promises to be a good high-octane gig.
The quartet performance will see Sam Mataure on drums, Enock Piroro on bass guitar, Strovers Shadaya on kongas while Tuku himself will show his artistic excellence on the acoustic guitar.
In a quartet concert, there are four components on stage and the type of instrumentation may vary depending on what the musician wants to achieve.
A quartet concept is a common phenomenon internationally and is not really new to Tuku, who often uses it when playing at weddings or private functions.
The Jazz 105 concert comes hard on the heels of   shows that Tuku has been holding from the time he held his much-hyped Tuku @ 60 Birthday Bash.
Tuku will be ably assisted by Jean Masters, an upcoming and talented jazz crooner who has shown that with the necessary support and encouragement, she can make it in the Zimbabwe entertainment arena.
The combination of the two is expected to ignite a revelling mood among their fans.
A prolific musician with 60 albums to his name, composer of more than three movie soundtracks, a contributor to Mahube, Southern Africa’s “super-group”, an actor too, Tuku’s performances continue to go a step higher each time he goes on stage.
He has mastered the art of entertaining, using his music, stage confidence, well-choreographed performances and his signature tune — the traditional cough — to endear himself to his fans.
What makes his performances outstanding is his vocal ability, which when coupled by with his acoustic sound, ignites a soothing feeling among many a music fan.
It is uncommon not to see fans at any of his shows, either young or old, swaying to the beat of “Tozeza Baba”, or one of his many hit tracks from years gone by.
Although Tuku has got an array of hit songs that have propelled him to dizzy heights, he is expected to play “Neria”, “Rufu Ndimadzongonyedze” and other hits that augur well with a quartet set-up.
