As the attendance at his shows in Zimbabwe continues to wane somewhat, veteran Zimbabwean music star Oliver Mtukudzi continues to strengthen his brand in neighbouring South Africa.

Tuku is a fan favourite in South Africa and in the last few months has been on a mission to boost his standing there.

The musician was honoured with a full house at South Africaas popular Bassline last Saturday night during a night dubbed Celebrate Tuku SA concert.

Despite still holding shows in Zimbabwe and abroad, Tuku had already signalled his intentions to turn his attention to the South African market earlier this year by releasing a gospel album that was released and marketed exclusively in that country.

Tuku a?s gospel compilation, God Bless You, was released in April. He also combined with legendary South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo to make a song for the city of Durban.

Tuku and the South African group recorded the song and video for the remake of Black Mambazoas Hello My Baby in May.

Tukuas manager Sam Mataure said that the veteran musician was aware of the popularity that his music enjoyed down south and wanted to strengthen his brand in that country.

a?Tuku has fans all over the globe and South Africa is no different and he is doing this for fans in this part of the continent,a? he said. .
