Tutu’s daughter ‘tried to hijack one of his trusts’

JOHANNESBURG. — South African retired archbishop Desmond Tutu’s daughter reportedly tried to “hijack” one of his trusts in the latest of a series of public spats revealing the cleric’s turbulent family life.

The Desmond Tutu Peace Trust was quietly shut down earlier this year, amid reports that Tutu’s daughter Reverend Mpho Tutu was allegedly at odds with other board members of the trust, which was in the process of raising funds to construct a peace centre in Cape Town. “We decided to just wind up the organisation without embarrassing the archbishop,” Saki Macozoma, board member and prominent businessmen, told the Sunday Times, a South African newspaper. “I really don’t want to talk about that woman’s behaviour.” — The Telegraph.
