A SOUTH Africa-based man from Chikanga has made shocking allegations against his wife, claiming that she is leading a double life and engaging in a secret affair with another man while he toils to support her.

The aggrieved man, Fidelis Mapungwana, alleges that his wife, Josephine Magara, has been involved in an illicit relationship with Darlington Manjiche, his former buddie without his knowledge.

The matter came to light at Chief Mutasa’s community court last Saturday, exposing the tangled web of relationships and deception.

Mapungwana claimed that Josephine is polyamorous and emotionally involved with Manjiche.

“I suspect my wife is polyamorous. She stays in Mutare while I work in South Africa. I have every reason to believe she is, not only seeing another man, but has built an emotional relationship with him while still married to me,” said Mapungwana, adding that his suspicions were aroused after his former friend, Vinnie Nyakatsapa, contacted him on Facebook Messenger, after a five-year silence due to a tiff over a car deal and financial disputes.

Mapungwana, Nyakatsapa and Manjiche were once close friends, but a financial dispute drove them apart.

“We were friends until debts owed to me caused a rift. Then, out of the blue, Nyakatsapa messaged me on Facebook, asking for forgiveness and my WhatsApp number. I gave him my WhatsApp number and we reconnected.

“He then asked for my wife’s number, which I provided without hesitation,” he said, adding that the seemingly innocuous exchange led to a series of shocking revelations that led him to believe his wife was leading a double life.

When he returned from South Africa, Mapungwana allegedly went through his wife’s phone and bumped into steamy romantic test messages between her and Nyakatsapa. It did not end there.

“I confronted Nyakatsapa and asked him why he had asked for my wife’s phone number, only for him to betray my trust and asked her out.

“He told me that he suspected that she was cheating on me and that he was conducting some undercover investigations. He said proposing to her was part of the elaborate investigations.

“He forwarded to me the text messages sent to him by Manjiche, bragging that he had slept with my wife twice at a lodge in Mutare. He advised me that after Manjiche had sent him the messages bragging about bedding my wife, he thought it wise to conduct his own investigations to unravel the truth,” said Mapungwana.

He said Nyakatsapa went on to forward to him graphic images of his wife’s privates as proof that she was sleeping around.

The images include what appeared to be Josephine’s naked bottom half, littered with seminal fluids.

The images were allegedly captured and sent to him by Manjiche.

In another image, Josephine allegedly captured her thigh while lying on a bed in a lodge.

“There were pictures of her naked leg and privates. Those were clearly her body parts. I know my wife’s thighs and privates. Those pictures were taken while she was lying on a bed. It was her, no doubt. I confronted both of them, but they denied everything. My wife is denying being the one on the pictures, even though I know her body so well,” he said.

Confronted with the allegations, Manjiche admitted to sending the explicit messages to Nyakatsapa, but denied ever bedding Josephine.

“Yes, I sent the messages, but I did not sleep with her. The pictures I sent are not hers. I got them from a WhatsApp group called Hot Property. I just said those things to mess around, but it was not true. It is all because I liked her body look, but I never asked her out or slept with her,” said Manjiche.

Chief Mutasa challenged Manjiche to produce the WhatsApp group messages as evidence.

“If you obtained these messages from a WhatsApp group, please show us,” he instructed.

Manjiche initially claimed he had no data, but when the court offered him WiFi access, he changed his excuse, saying he had damaged his phone, which had stopped working.

This contradiction sparked suspicion. Josephine, meanwhile, emphatically denied all the allegations.

“Manjiche never asked me out. He never slept with me. Those pictures are not mine. The white pantie in the picture is not even mine. The only person who ever messaged me was Nyakatsapa and I turned him down. That is when he accused me of sleeping with Manjiche and sent me those pictures,” she said.

She further suggested that the whole drama was a carefully planned ploy by her husband and his other wife to frame her.

“My husband’s other wife took my phone by force while he was still in South Africa. She called him and told him everything she saw. This was all coordinated. They were working together to bring me down,” she alleged.

Chief Mutasa ruled that the issue warranted further investigations by the police, especially since the allegations involved the circulation of explicit images.

“Josephine, go and report this matter to the police. What Manjiche did, sending nudes and claiming they are yours is a serious offence. He deserves to be in jail. You need to make a report as part of our investigations,” said Chief Mutasa.

He also ordered the court to revisit the matter once the police report was available.

“Manjiche, your reckless actions have destroyed trust in this marriage. Whether what you claimed is true or false, you have damaged this union and have caused emotional pain,” he said sternly.

As punishment for breaking the marital bond, Chief Mutasa ordered Manjiche to pay five beasts to Mapungwana as compensation.

While the court proceedings were temporarily concluded, the explosive matter is far from over.
Chief Mutasa said only police investigations will determine if Josephine was guilty or indeed framed as she claims.
