Typhoid vaccination rolled out in Chipinge

Chipinge District is set to commence a typhoid vaccination program aimed at reducing cases in some hotspot areas as well as protecting young children from the disease.

Health Promotion Officer Tsitsi Nyanhete said the vaccine which will be given at local clinics and outreach centres will also include vaccination of other diseases that include Poliomyelitis to children below 9 months and Cervical cancer in young women and girls.

She said since the beginning of the year no new suspected cases of typhoid have been reported.
