their opening match of the festival before falling 7-25 in their second match against Griffons. Robert Jameson and Justin Hammond, both from St John’s School, scored the points for the Zimbabweans.
Chareka said although they did not win it was a good experience for his team.
“It was such a good exposure, the games were tough and for us to get some few tries was not easy. We really appreciate our coaches’ efforts and when we lost the first match we felt bad but I enjoyed our last match against the Cheetahs,” said Chareka.
Zimbabwe also lost 5-21 to Namibia.
St George’s Hilton Mambo said it was a good learning curve. “I was happy to be part of the Craven Week, it was such a good exposure and wonderful experience,” said Mambo.
Simon Sharwood was injured in the second match and could not play in the third and fourth games and he had to fly back home before the final day of the festival.
One of the festival organisers, Chore Wedeman, said he enjoyed Zimbabwe’s last encounter against Cheetahs.
