Vice President Col [rtd] Dr Kembo Mohadi has arrived in Beitbridge on Friday to assess operations at Lotsha FM a local community radio station that promotes and preserves the TshiVenda culture.
Lotsha FM is one of the 14 licenced community radio stations operating in the country as the Second Republic moves to promote the use of all indigenous languages.
The visit is part of VP Mohadi’s assessment of high impact Independence projects as the country prepares to host the national Independence celebrations in Maphisa, Matobo.
Beitbridge is one of the districts in the country that hosts the Assembly points.
The Independence flame will this year be lit at Juliet [Zezani] Assembly in Beitbridge in the first week of next month.
The flame will then be taken on a roadshow across the other six districts in Matabeleland South.
VP Mohadi is accompanied by the Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Albert Nguluvhe and senior staff from his office.
Government is rolling out a number of legacy projects in Matabeleland South across all sectors in the province’s seven districts.
These include the construction of 40 science labs, road construction, clinic, stadiums, civil registry offices and houses for Government workers and solarised borehole installations among others.
