Victoria Falls tourism festival launched

A maiden annual festival, Victoria Falls KeDecember Tourism aimed at promoting tourism, culture and economic growth within the region has been launched.

The festival will run from December, 28 to 31 at Elephant Hills Hotel in the magnificent town.

The event’s Ambassador , Itai Mutinhiri, promised fireworks during the four-day leisure initiative.

 

Apart from entertainment, Itai promised that the event will be of great importance to the country and the society as well.

 

“As you know tourism plays a pivotal role when we are focusing on the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth and its development.

 

“In the run-up of the event, we will do a couple of initiatives as to promote the festival and also bringing light to some of the issues that are affecting our youths, issues such as drug and substance abuse and we will be speaking against it,” she said.

 

Victoria Falls KeDecember Tourism Festival Public Relations Manager Wisdom has guaranteed that there will be lots of entertainment and sharing of ideas.

 

“The event is encompassing four major events which include colour run and braai fest, dance competition, clash of the DJs and also the Legends of Africa where you will meet big artists around Africa,” he said.

 

He also said from the eight countries listed so far for the event, there will be two selected artists from each country.

 

Expected countries include Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Angola, Botswana among others.

 

Wisdom also said the traveling packages will carter for tents and accommodation from the general to the VVIP which will be at the Elephant Resort.
