Vincent brothers tee off in Dallas

The final event of the 2024 LIV Golf Season is upon us! Back in Chicago, Jon Rahm had won the title of Individual Champion.

But while he was celebrating his victory, the fate of a total of five golfers for the upcoming season came to be set in stone. Now with only the crown to be given to the best team being left, the five athletes will make sure to give their teams one last push at the LIV Golf Dallas before their exit.

Yes, you read that right! The five athletes including Kalle Samooja from Cleeks GC, Zimbabwean Scott Vincent from Iron Heads GC, Branden Grace from Stinger GC, Bubba Watson from RangeGoats GC, and another Zimbabwean Kieran Vincent from Legion XIII will tee off at the upcoming tournament in Dallas today.

They will do so in a bid to help their respective squads clinch the title of the Team Champion at the Maridoe Golf Club.

The first two days of the tournament (the quarter-finals and the semi-finals) include the 13 groups teeing it off against each other for a place in the final.

Sunday, however, will include all 52 golfers teeing it up alongside each other in a round of strokeplay in a shotgun start, just like the regular event of the men’s circuit. But only the four teams who won the semi-finals will have a chance to clinch the title.

Although there are a total of nine golfers in the Drop Zone on the 2024 season-long leaderboard, only five in the group are in danger of being relegated for the next season.

The likes of Anthony Kim and Hudson Swafford were the two ‘Wild Card’ entries for the current season with a 1-year contract.

If the two can extend their agreement, then the pair might even be spotted in the 2025 season teeing off for LIV Golf.

But they won’t be able to participate in the upcoming tournament owing to them not being in any team.

Laurie Canter, placed at T52 on the season-long leaderboard, had only taken part in two events through the 2024 season, in Mayakoba and Las Vegas. Ben Campbell, on the other hand, managed to tee off at Miami, Houston, and Greenbrier, all the while dropping down to the 57th spot on the leaderboard. The two, meanwhile, are reserve players who will also not be spotted alongside the 52 golfers at LIV Golf Dallas. — Agencies.
