TWO Harare-based police officers who thought they could pocket bribes in broad daylight have been nailed—thanks to a viral video that blew the lid off their dirty dealings!
The clip, which made waves across social media, shows a female officer casually sitting on a plastic chair at Parkade Rank—right at the corner of Nelson Mandela and Rezende Streets—accepting bribes like it’s business as usual.
But business is over.
Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that Constables Mupandira and Chirengendure have been arrested and are now staring down the barrel of both disciplinary and criminal charges.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police informs the public that Constable Mupandira and Constable Chirengendure have been arrested,” said Comm Nyathi. “The Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba, does not condone corruption by any police officer and will ensure that the law takes its course without fear or favour.”
Now the big question: how many more are out there slipping dirty dollars into their pockets while pretending to uphold the law?
