We have a High Priest of our profession

He is the High Priest of our confession, therefore He cannot do anything for us until first we confess that He has done it

HEBREWS 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.
He is the High Priest of our confession. Now, anyone who knows the Scripture, knows that that word is written “profession,” but the same word is translated “confession.”
In other words, He cannot save you by the merits of your prayer. He cannot save you by the merits of your enthusiasm or your good works. He saves you by the merits of your faith and your confession.
“For if you will confess Me before men, him will I confess before My Father and the holy Angels.”
You can visit the altar and pray all night. You can cry and beg and plead with God, but until you believe and accept Him you will still be a sinner.
For Hebrews 3, said: “Jesus Christ is the High Priest of our confession,” profession, the same translation is confession.
He is the High Priest of our confession, therefore, He cannot do nothing for us, until first, we confess that He has done it. And then He goes to work as a High Priest, making good what we profess, that He has done.
He will make good anything that He included in His atonement. And there He was: “Wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity, the chastisement of our peace upon Him; with His stripes we were healed.”
You may have seined through every doctor’s office there is in the country. You may have been in every hospital and every clinic and have gone through prayer line after prayer line for people praying for the sick. But unless you say like Peter “At Thy Word, Lord, I’m going to let down the net right now. I’m going to believe right now. that You’re setting at the right hand of the Father, as a High Priest”, nothing will happen.
A High Priest makes intercessions upon confessions. And that is what Hebrews 3 says: ‘He is the High Priest of our profession’.
That means, He makes intercession upon what we confess Him to have done already. He is sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercessions upon our confession.
He cannot heal or save you, or do one thing for you, until first you accept it, and believe it, and confess it. You have to confess it. Not to feel it, but to confess it. He is not the high Priest of your feelings; He is the High Priest of your confession.
He is the High Priest of our confession, therefore He cannot do anything for us until first we confess that He has done it. And then when we confess it, then He is the High Priest, a mediator, to go to work on that and make it right.
Other high priests would pass from the first sanctuary into the second. They would pass through the veil of badger skin to the Holy of holies. But Jesus passed, not into the Holy of holies, but into heaven. Our High Priest will not fail.
Hebrews 4:14-16 says: “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
He is greater than Aaron. He is High Priest who can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. He can feel your feelings. He sympathises with you. He wants you whole more than you want. He is sensitive to you’re the touch of your weakness and infirmity.
Jesus will not fail because He ever lives. Other high priests would not continue in office because of death.
Hebrews 7:23-28 says: “And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: [24] But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. [25] Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
He has an unchangeable priesthood; therefore, he ever lives to make sure that your prayers are answered. Just make sure to profess good things. Confess His blessings today, and He will make it good.
He amplifies your voice before God.
Do not confess anything negative. He intercedes upon what you confess!
