LONDON. — Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told Aaron Ramsey to forget about scoring goals and focus on helping the team. Wenger says midfielder Ramsey has to focus on getting his “priorities right”.
It comes after criticism was directed at Ramsey following Arsenal’s 3-3 Champions League draw with Anderlecht.
The Welshman has scored twice in the English Premier League this season – against Crystal Palace and Everton – and has provided just one assist.
Having hit 10 goals and created nine more in 2013-14, Ramsey will perhaps be disappointed with his current tally but Wenger insists the midfielder must prioritise the team over his desire to hit the back of the net.
Wenger told reporters: “He has to keep his priorities right. He needs to help the team. It’s not about goalscoring.”
Arsenal face Swansea tomorrow, with Ramsey likely to play, and Wenger insists there is a positive mood around the club despite their 3-3 draw with Anderlecht in midweek, during which the Gunners threw away a 3-0 lead. — SkySports.
