BLOT’S mother has dismissed claims that the Zimdancehall star has relapsed into drug abuse and insists he has been battling health complications for nearly three weeks.

Speculation about the artist’s condition intensified after former manager, Tony “Bindura” Mwedzi, shared an emotional message expressing concern over Blot’s wellbeing.

Tony Bindura revealed that he had received numerous calls and messages from promoters and fans regarding the artist’s health.

However, as speculation mounted online, Blot’s mother moved to clarify the situation, rejecting suggestions that her son’s condition was linked to drug use. According to her, the artist has been unwell for close to three weeks and is currently dealing with health-related issues.

“People are saying he is back on drugs, but that is not true. My son has been sick for almost three weeks now,” she said.

She added that the public should avoid jumping to conclusions and instead allow the family space as the musician recovers.

“This is a health issue, not drugs. We are focusing on helping him get better and we appreciate everyone who is praying for him,” she said.

Tony Bindura was the first to reveal that Blot was not in a good space. “I want to share something that has been weighing heavily on my heart.

“One of the greatest regrets I carry is walking away from managing an artist I deeply believed in,” he said.

“Today, I received a million messages and calls from different promoters and fans pertaining his health and watching someone with so much talent and potential lose their way is heart-breaking.”

Tony Bindura said he often wonders whether things could have turned out differently had he remained involved in the artist’s career.

“While everyone is ultimately responsible for their own choices, I often wonder whether things could have been different if I had remained by his side to guide, support and encourage him,” he said.

He stressed that his message was not intended to assign blame but rather to highlight the importance of mentorship and support in the entertainment industry.

“I share this not to seek sympathy or place blame, but because it serves as a reminder of how important mentorship, support and genuine care can be in someone’s life.

“Talent alone is not enough; people need positive influences around them to help them navigate challenges and stay focused on their purpose.”

He also appealed to fans to keep the musician in their prayers.

“Blot’s mother told me that he is not feeling well. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I wish him a speedy recovery and I still believe that no matter how far someone falls, there is always hope for recovery, healing and a second chance.”

The discussion has also attracted reactions from fellow musicians, including Chillmaster, who urged the public not to rush to judge Blot based on his current condition.

“I can see everyone is judging Blot in his current state right now. Artists go through a lot, especially when trying to protect their brands. Things can get very difficult,” said Chillmaster.

“We go through many struggles that people do not always see. There is a lot that artists endure behind the scenes.”

His remarks resonated with many fans, who noted that musicians often face immense pressure while maintaining their public image and careers.

The clarification from Blot’s mother has sparked mixed reactions online, with many expressing relief that the situation may not be linked to substance abuse while others have continued to send messages of support and encouragement.

Blot has built a loyal following through his energetic Zimdancehall releases and remains one of the genre’s recognisable voices.
