THE Golden Acre Lodge in Kwekwe is strikingly beautiful, courtesy of its tropical garden.
Located in the Golden Acres suburb, the lodge was established in 2012 and currently boasts three-star rating.
As you arrive, you will find the entrance adorned with a number of indigenous msasa trees, mingled with palms.
The beautiful periwinkle (vinca roseus) displays its blooms all year round, and it is combined with the red-foliaged Ti plant (cordyline terminalis).
The reception sign is set against a beautiful background of rocks and pots adorned with succulents.
The neatly paved driveway beckons you to move in. Heeding this call will certainly not be a bad idea.
The place’s breathtaking garden is full of surprises.
The reception area is located in a grey modern building and is surrounded by large pots with the magnificent Madagascar cycad (Cycas thouarsii).
A good selection of trees makes the garden a truly tropical haven.
It is marked by a number of tropical shade-loving gems.
At each corner, large pots with a variety of palms and crotons make a striking mark around the lodge.
The famous golden duranta was used to screen some lodges for privacy.
In front of the garden, as you enter, is an open space where major functions like weddings and parties are held on a green lawn under the shade of trees.
There is no need for tents as nature literally got you covered.
