In a shocking revelation, a 24-year-old woman claimed to have been coerced into filing rape charges against her stepfather after she had been engaging in a consensual sexual relationship with him for the past four years.
This relationship, which was later discovered by her mother, started after the woman had a dream where she envisioned herself having sex with her stepfather.
The woman from Nyamandlovu in Umguza District Matabeleland North Province left the court stunned when she insisted that before the “affair” she had initially dreamed about having sex with her stepfather.
She further explained that she then narrated this dream to her stepfather, who then convinced her to fulfil it.
The girl admitted to engaging in consensual sex with her stepfather since 2021.
The girl boldly told the court that she had argued with her mother over her stepfather and claimed that they loved each other, but her mother was jealous of their relationship.
The shocking revelations came to light when the 52-year-old stepfather appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza facing rape charges.
He pleaded not guilty, claiming that the sexual encounters were consensual. He even alleged that his stepdaughter would sometimes enter his bedroom while in her birthday suit.
The allegations against the accused are that in September 2021, while his wife was away, he woke up during the night and went to his stepdaughter’s bedroom, where he allegedly raped her. His wife later discovered the incident during an argument with her daughter.
On another occasion, sometime in October of this year, the wife caught her daughter and husband in their matrimonial bedroom. She questioned her daughter but did not receive a satisfactory answer.
Two weeks ago, she again caught her husband with her daughter in the bedroom and forced the latter to file rape charges against him.
