Woman bashed over 50 cents

A COWDRAY Park man assaulted a woman who allegedly refused to give him change for a plate of sadza he had bought.

Admire Dube (22) did not take kindly to being told that he was not entitled to any change for the food.
Dube then assaulted Sibongile Ndlovu.

a�?Dube bought a plate of sadza and paid with a 50 cent bond coin but later demanded change from me. I explained to him that the food costs 50 cents and he changed his story and claimed that he had instead given me a dollar bond coin, which is not true,a�? said Ndlovu.

a�?He ate his food and later came back demanding change before beating me all over the body. As you can see I have a swollen face from the assault,a�? added Ndlovu.

Dube is said to have tried buying a piece of sausage with the same 50 cents from one butchery run by a Raymond Gutai prior to purchasing the sadza.

The raging Dube was restrained by Gutai from further eassaulting the hapless woman.

A police report was made, leading to the arrest of Dube who is in police custody awaiting trial.

The assault allegedly took place at a butchery in Makokoba. .
