A woman appeared in court seeking a peace order against her late husband’s girlfriend, who has been forcefully showing up at her house, claiming a share of her husband’s property.

Mary Karimanzira told court that her husband passed away at his girlfriend Prudence Muzaradenga’s house, a few months ago.
She claimed that she had no knowledge of her husband’s extramarital affair until Mazaradenga called her to collect her deceased husband’s body.
“I was devastated because not only had I lost my husband, but I also discovered that he had been involved in extramarital affairs.”
Since the passing of her lover, Mazaradenga has allegedly been harassing Karimanzira, demanding a share of the property.
“She has no rightful claim my husband’s house.
“My husband and I worked hard to build our life together, and I will not let someone who was secretly involved with him try to take what’s mine,” she said.
In response Muzaradenga told the court that she was only claiming what was rightfully hers.
“We were together for years, and he promised to take care of me.
“I deserve a share of his property because l was also his wife.”
Presiding Magistrate Meenal Narotam granted Karimanzira a peace order and ordered Muzaradenga to refrain from harassing her.
