A WOMAN who was walking towards 6th Avenue in the Bulawayo city centre had her world turned upside down after three men who were travelling in a Honda Fit allegedly kidnapped her before raping her in a bushy area.
The incident happened on Monday and was confirmed by Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube.
“We would like to discourage members of the public from putting their lives at risk by walking alone during the night. But they should walk in groups or hire a taxi rather than dicing with death,” he said.
A source close to the incident said a woman who cannot be named for ethical reasons was walking alone towards 6th Avenue when a white Honda Fit abruptly stopped in front of her.
“Two men bolted out of the car and grabbed her before bundling her into the car. It sped off heading to Mzilikazi suburb. They parked at a bushy area near Mzilikazi High School,” the source said.
After that, they pulled her out of the car. It is alleged two males raped her, and after that the driver reportedly sodomised her. After they were done they dumped her in the bush and drove off headed to Mzilikazi suburb.
