In a related incident, police in Mashonaland East Province on Thursday last week launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed in cold blood, Mr Oscar Muzanenhamo, the headmaster of Karumazondo Secondary School, Murehwa on Wednesday evening.
Allegations are that Mr Muzanenhamo (56), on January 12 around 4pm went to Gwishiri Business Centre where he was drinking beer and was in the company of one Luckmore Masuku (43) and Kudzanai Dungwiza (28) both of Nhende Village under Chief Mangwende.
It is alleged that at around 8pm on the same day, Mr Muzanenhamo left the business centre alone and headed for his home when he was waylaid by his attackers.
Around 9pm, allegations are that Masuku, Noel Shoko and one Paradzai Pfuma also left the business centre going to their homes.
Reports suggest that after the trio had walked for 200 metres along Munhume-Mukarakate gravel road, they saw a person who was lying across the road and Shoko used his torch to see clearly since it was now dark.
After a closer look it is said they discovered it was Mr Muzanenhamo whom they were drinking beer with earlier at the business centre.
He was allegedly bleeding from a deep cut on his head, and was already dead.
Police spokesperson for Mashonaland East Province Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi confirmed the incident and appealed to the public for information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect.
