A 40-YEAR-OLD woman from Beitbridge has been nabbed after she was found in possession of about five kilograms of game meat.

Constance Ndou appeared before a Beitbridge magistrate facing a charge of contravening the Parks and Wildlife Act.

She was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of US$200 on or before 25 November 2024 or face three months’ imprisonment.

The court heard that on 9 November 2024, the police received a tip off that Ndou was selling game meat.

The police acted on this information and found her in possession of 22 meat bundles at her house in Dulivhadzimu.

After some interrogations, Ndou failed to produce a permit that allowed her to sell game meat and she was arrested. The recovered meat was certified to be that of an impala.
