A HARARE woman has been accused of neglecting her kids after dragging her ex-husband to court.
Sibongile Tigere yesterday told the court that she was being assaulted by her ex-husband Gabriel Tongai.
“Whenever he sees me with a male companion he beats us both, he is a bitter ex.
“I stay with my mom and when he is drunk he comes to insult me damaging my property, I no longer feel safe.”
In his defence, Gabriel told the court that he does all this because of anger.
“When we separated, she left our two kids who are still young and when I asked her to come and bathe them, she refused. She is neglecting her role as a mother and acts as if she is childless, that’s why I end up resorting to violence,” he said.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application.
