THE Twins Association of Zimbabwe leaders have finally found the woman they have been looking for all week-she gave birth to triplets and not FIVE kids.
TWA leaders – Farai Mayor Katonha and Tendai Lawyer went on a wild goose chase to Karanda Katonha Mission Hospital after being told the woman had given birth to five kids at once and needed help.
Yesterday, they finally found the woman, known only as Margaret at a hospital in Harare, and she delivered triplets and not five kids.
The Katonha brothers said:
‘Mothers of twins and multiple births face serious challenges from pregnancy, giving birth and baby upkeep.
“At least, we have finally located her and she gave birth to triplets not five children.
“The father is yet to meet the newly-born triplets and never bought baby preparation clothes.
“He is accusing the mother of cheating, and that is the reason she lied to him. The mother didn’t want him to come and see the babies out of anger.
“She pleaded for privacy considering the physical and emotional abuse she under went.
“As the Tiwins Association, we respect such privacy and we will try to engage the father for counseling.”
They added: “We have noted with concern the number of twins and multiple births being delivered daily in several hospitals.
“At one of the local hospitals, more than 10 sets of twins and multiple births were delivered.
“We continue to urge the corporates, churches, and individuals to assist mothers of twins and multiple births.
Valleta Nyamufukudza, who is believed to be the father of the children and announced the birth of five kids at once, told H-Metro
“To be honest, I am stressed about this issue, she is my second wife.
“We had some differences and that forced us to separate, we are still together though. We now have four children.”
