A Harare resident told the civil court that her daughter is in the habit of shouting at her drawing the attention of the neighbours.
Ever Zhanje appeared before the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her 18-year-old daughter, Yadela Goredora, due to alleged verbal and physical abuse.
She claimed that her daughter habitually shouts at her, insults her, and leaves her alone with her baby while she sleeps out.
“My daughter shouts at me whenever l confront her and she is in the habit of sleeping out yet she is nursing a baby.
“She is 18 years- old and leaves me alone with her baby.”
Ever stated that when she confronts Yadela about her behaviour, she becomes violent, leading to physical fights and injuries.

“Whenever l ask her where she is, she shouts at me and the outburst draws the attention of our neighbours who end up attacking me for abusing her.
“She calls me a witch and sometimes we get into a physical fight and l end up with cuts on my hands.”
In response Yadela denied the claims, claiming that her mother is the one who insults her and tells neighbours that she is immature and involved in prostitution.
“She is the one who is in the habit of telling the neighbours that l insult her yet l don’t.
“A neighbour looked for a job for me and my mother told her l was not mature enough to work.
“She told her that l was into prostitution and I confronted her over my baby who needed my care.
“It led to a physical fight which made our neighbours assault my mother.”
Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted Ever a protection order, ordering Yadela to stop abusing and harassing her mother.
