A WOMAN and her son from Madumbe Village under Chief Sai in Gokwe are living as husband and wife.
The 48-year-old mother-cum-wife to her son Enia Sithole and her biological son Edmore Masunure (30) decided to live as a couple following the death of her husband who was Edmorea��s father.
A villager who is their neighbour said they should be banished for their deed.
a�?How can a normal woman sleep with her own son? Their relationship is very disturbing. They are supposed to respect each other,a�? said the villager.
But Masunure defended his actions because it was an instruction from his father.
a�?Before he died, my father told me to look after my mother and my siblings. He instructed me to assume his role after his death which is exactly what I am doing. People are judging us but they dona��t understand our situation,a�? said Masunure. Sithole also stood by her son who is now her husband.
a�?Families have different traditions and this is our tradition as a family. People should stop trying to separate us because they will never succeed,a�? said Sithole. It is understood that the two were once summoned by Chief Sai but they never showed up at the traditional court.
