A WOMAN, who always confided in her daughter that she was certain her violent husband would kill her one day, was murdered in Nyabira on Monday.

Shylet Jimu was killed by her husband Tashinga Zaranyika at about 9 pm.

Her daughter, Catherine Nyausa, told H-Metro her mother always feared she was going to be killed one day by her husband.

“It is not his first time he has assaulted my mother and each time my mother called me she would say ‘one day this man will kill me’, and he has finally done it.

“Three weeks ago, he strangled my mother and we had to file a report at the police although they said domestic violence issues should be dealt with at home.

“After that visit to the police, he took my mother to the bush and assaulted her.

“He is a drunkard and he becomes violent each time he is drunk.”This is not his first marriage, rather it is his fourth marriage.

“He assaulted his first wife and she later died, which resulted in him spending some months in prison although he did not change, he assaulted his second wife which triggered their divorce.”

Catherine added:

“All l want is justice for my mother, he can not kill my mother and lie that she got involved in a car accident.

“Trust Jimu, a brother of the deceased, said:

“When we arrived at the scene it did not look like an accident and, to make matters worse, Tashinga filed a statement with the police saying Shylet jumped from a moving car whilst he was driving.

“If he had not taken my sister to an unknown place and called me to sort out their differences my sister would be alive now. The body is at Parirenyatwa Hospital awaiting a post mortem.

“My sister has bruises all over her body which showed that she died from the assault. Tashinga has been a violent man and it’s now three years since he married my sister but Shylet was abused by this man.”
