IN a move aimed at equipping them with health care skills, women and youths drawn from Manicaland Province are receiving training as nurse aids facilitated by Zanu PF Mutare District and a local organisation, Elite Nursing Care.

The party’s Mutare District Coordinating Committee (DCC) secretary for women affairs Cde Lorrain Mukodza said 50 people from the city as well as Mutare North and Zimunya-Marange are undergoing the training.

She said at completion of training, the nurse aides will be deployed in health institutions that are understaffed.

Cde Mukodza added that the programme seeks to compliment Government’s efforts of ensuring that health services are easily accessible in line with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) as the country purses Vision 2030.

Under NDS1, Zimbabwe is prioritising the wellbeing of people by increasing access to primary health care.
