YABO IN BULLISH MOOD IN TITLE RACE

N’OMBEYAORA coach Nesbert ‘Yabo’ Saruchera is bullish about his team’s prospects in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One championship race.

The newboys lead the marathon and Yabo has been clear that his mission is to try and win the league.

“We have never hidden our intentions. We started by assembling a strong squad and we are happy with the progress so far,” said Yabo.

N’ombeyawora have 36 points, five points clear of second-placed Black Rhinos, after 15 matches.

Midfielder Tadiwa Chibunyu has been instrumental for the club and is now the joint top-scorer with eight goals, the same tally as Tinashe Balakasi of Agama and Ignatius Blessed of Black Rhinos.

“Chibunyu is in top form at the moment. We’re hoping and praying he maintains this momentum. He’s definitely on track to reach double figures,” said Yabo.

He blasted what he feels are dirty tactics from opponents.

“I hate when teams resort to dirty play.

“I wish we could all agree that, even when leading, you can strategise to manage the game without resorting to foul play,” Yabo said.

“But we remain focused. We are a good team and we’ll keep playing our game until we get the results we want.

“We’ll add two strikers when the window opens.

“We want to be even more dangerous in the second half of the season,” he said.

N’ombeyawora’s next challenge is an away fixture against Chegutu Pirates at Pfupajena on Saturday.
