Young Igwe, Sulu on collision course

HEIR to the Utakataka throne, Peter “Dhewa” Moyo will take his new project, Mabasa aMwari “The Lord’s work” to Mutare for the first time since its release in August when he performs at leisure centre, The Platinum tonight (Friday).

The youthful musician will be supported by Dendera musician, Suluman Chimbetu and the star-studied Orchestra Dendera Kings in potentially explosive shows.

Peter Moyo, in an interview said he considered the eastern border city as one of the cities with vibrant Utakataka Express fan base and would not dare disappoint his fans.

Mutare used to be Peter’s dad, Tongai’s favourite hunting ground before his untimely death in 2011.

He believes his new album is a masterpiece comparing to his debut Mushonga Mukuru.

“It is a perfect opportunity for my camp to market our new offering to our beloved fans in Mutare. It has been quite a while since we performed there and I can safely say we are ready to rock. I am overwhelmed by the support and response we have been getting. The road has not been easy but our fans keep us going,” said the Mushonga Mukuru hit-maker.

Tracks contained of his new album produced by rising producer, Munya Vialy are Samasimba, Mavanga, Rudo pasina, Mhosva dzemudzinza, Domestic Violence and a bonus track which features Botswana songstress and dancer Slizer titled Pasina Mari.

Suluman Chimbetu, speaking through his manager, Joe “Local” Nyamungoma said the Orchestra Dendera Kings camp will present some of the new tracks contained in their forthcoming album to be released next year.

The award-winning musician who last released the album, Gunship, last performed at the spacious entertainment centre last month alongside Jah Prayzah.
