The Young Warriors are marking a return to the continental football after a long layoff and this group of U-17s intends to do more than just finish business when the two teams clash in the first leg at Gwanzura.
Young Warriors’ coach Lloyd Chigove was happy with the turnout and expects tight competition for places from the lads.
“We are now in camp and the response from the players has been awesome,” said Chigove.
“There is a lot of talent and we expect stiff competition from the young boys”.
Chigove expects all teams taking part in the competition to use the correct age and the Young Warriors were set to undergo MRI bone testing before trimming down the players. “We are expecting other countries to comply with the Caf requirements on using correct the age so that we can have a level playing field. We will trim the squad to 30 players after undergoing the age tests.
“We are going to have MRI bone testing at the Zifa Village after our training session so that we can also use the correct age.
