The Zambezi Eagles got their day off to a losing start this morning, going down to the Gauteng Jaguars 49–56 in a rescheduled match at the Sun Park, as the Telkom Netball League Power Week One continues.
The match was initially scheduled for Tuesday evening before being moved to today.
Coming off a 61–52 defeat at the hands of the Spar Baby Proteas on Wednesday in their second game of the day, the Eagles had hoped for a positive start on a day they are also set to take on the Stings.
Once again, missed opportunities and unforced errors were their major setbacks.
Coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki expressed concern over poor decision-making at critical moments.
“So far, I am very happy with their performance as a team. They are playing good netball, but the problem is their decision-making, which is very poor at times.
“They need to improve their decision-making,” said Mutsauki.
The Zambezi Eagles take on the Stings at 4 p.m. at the Sun City Superbowl.
