adminHubert Nyanhongo to appraise the people on the draft constitution amended Zanu-PF, Mr Masimirembwa said: “The draft constitution must be the views of the people. The Zanu-PF proposed draft constitution reflects the views and true values of the people of Zimbabwe”.
He noted that any draft constitution must reflect values of locals not foreign interests.
“A constitution must reflect values of a people. We do not want a constitution to be a copy of a constitution of another country . . . this business of copying other
constitutions will result in reversal of the gains of our liberation struggle,” he said.
Cde Nyanhongo said this was the first phase of a campaign in his constituency to appraise the people on the constitution-making process.
“As we brace for the Second All Stakeholders’ Conference, we just want to update the constituency on the constitution-making process hence we have convened this meeting to update the people so that they are well informed on Zanu-PF’s position,” he said.

Cde Nyanhongo said several other meetings would be held next week in the province.
Zanu-PF has endorsed all its proposed amendments to the draft constitution that were submitted to the three principals for consideration.
The Zanu-PF Politburo convened a special meeting at the party’s head-quarters last month and deliberated on its proposed amendments to the draft constitution which were handed over to the principals.
The parties have since agreed to go to the Second All Stakeholders’ Conference with two documents, the national statistical report and the draft constitution.
