The ruling party, Zanu PF Women’s League, is rallying behind the resolution to extend President Mnangagwa’s tenure to 2030.
Despite his refusal to seek another term, the league wants him to complete his transformative development project of achieving an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
Zanu PF’s Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Cde Mabel Chinomona told a meeting organised by the league with female ministers and deputy ministers that it was crucial for women to
support the President’s Vision 2030 so that they see the fruits for themselves.
“You are party appointees, honourable ministers, hence we expect you to be responsive to our party,” she said.
“I was happy that every province has its number one resolution that the sitting President will be there until 2030. So the President will be able to accomplish his goal, and the people will see the vision.”
She urged the ministers and deputy ministers to use their positions to advance the interests and well-being of women.
“We know that you are very busy, and we appreciate the sacrifice you have made to be here with us today,” she said.
“This shows your dedication to our party. We are all here because we share a common goal, that of advancing the interests and well-being of women through your respective ministries.”
