THE Zanu-PF Women’s League leadership in Manicaland has embarked on a tour of all districts to educate members on the recent developments and leadership changes in the party.
Backed by the provincial chairman, Cde Samuel Undenge, and Women’s League national executive member Cde Monica Mutsvangwa, the Women’s League provincial leadership was at Biriiri Community Hall last Thursday where speaker after speaker denounced ousted party leaders who worked in cahoots with deposed Vice-President Joice Mujuru in a plot to unseat President Mugabe.
Cde Mutsvangwa said it is important that new leadership get to the grassroots and tell the truth about the goings-on in the party.
“The whole idea is to report back to the membership on the developments in the party after congress. A lot has happened and the members have a right to get first-hand information from the new leadership rather than being misled by a cabal of quislings who are disgruntled after being ousted.
“People here in Chimanimani are now in the light and now know that some of their leaders who were shown the exit have not been acting in the interest of the party but for their own selfish interests,” she said.
Cde Undenge said members of the party in the province must never be misled by those who were booted out.
“We are aware of the fact that those who were booted out are busy peddling lies about the state of the party and leadership.
“This is the reason why the Women’s League in the province has decided to take it upon itself to educate membership on the developments in the party while sending out the correct message to the people,” he said.
Manicaland Women’s League chairlady Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa added that they will be holding similar meetings in all the parts of the province.
‘‘We had similar meetings at Zimunya/Marange, Mutare and now Chimanimani. We will do the same in Chipinge, Buhera and all the parts of the province.
“Party members need to be told the truth for them to appreciate the direction the party is taking,” she said.
