ZB Financial Holdings on Friday scooped three accolades for giving back to the community at the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Network Awards held in Harare on Friday.
The country’s largest integrated media house, Zimpapers, was also among the winners at the event.
Speaking after receiving the awards, ZB Financial Holdings group chief executive Mr Shepherd Fungura said the accolades validate the contribution they are making to the development of communities across the country.
“Sustainability is at the core of our CSR activities. Our purpose is to improve lives through promoting go-green initiatives. Our strategic goals align with the National Development Strategy 1 and Sustainable Development Goals.
“We have done projects in education, notably financial literacy, through partnerships on capacitating high school students with entrepreneurial skills. We have also funded anti-poaching activities and provided boreholes and inputs for agricultural projects in communities. Next year, we want to focus on mental wellness and drug abuse.”
Speaking at the event, CRS Network board chairperson Ms Lucy Marowa said: “We are celebrating the hard work of delivering and pioneering new strategies, as well as sharing what it takes to be one of Zimbabwe’s leading responsible businesses. We want to see the longevity and utility of all our projects, way beyond ourselves, to benefit generations to come,” Ms Marowa said.
