A SENIOR ZBC TV producer based at Montrose Studios in Bulawayo has been found hanged at her home.
The body of Gertrude Mugarisanwa, 53, was found by her horrified husband, Fidelis, in their cottage on Sunday afternoon.
Mum-of-five Mugarisanwa, of Dundee Drive in Greenhill, was the producer of a programme called Catch Them Young.
Assistant Inspector Abednico Ncube of Bulawayo police said yesterday:
“We confirm that we have received a sudden death case involving a ZBC employee.
“Investigations are underway.”

Sources at the ZBC said Mugarisanwa had handed in a resignation letter about two weeks ago, saying she was not feeling well and needed a rest.
But last week, she told friends she was reconsidering her decision.
“We don’t know why she would do such a thing,” said one ZBC employee.

“She was a good manager and highly thought of by her subordinates. So it’s mind boggling why she would do such a thing.”
Shortly after 11AM on Sunday, Mugarisanwa is believed to have asked one of her sons for keys to the cottage at the back of their house.

An hour later, her husband – a lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology (Nust)- asked his son if he had seen his mother.
“The son told him that he had last seen her asking for keys to the cottage,” said the source.

Mugarisanwa’s husband, sources said, proceeded to the cottage where upon entering he saw his wife’s body dangling from the roof.
Police were called, but no suicide note has been found, according to sources close to the investigation.
