DREADLOCKED Warriors defender Jordan Zemura has urged his Warriors teammates to take the remaining games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with full focus as it will help them fine tune for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Warriors were booted out from the World Cup qualifiers after suffering a 1-0 loss to Benin in Group C last Friday night.
The country’s flagship football team will take on Rwanda on Tuesday at South Africa’s Orlando Stadium in one of their three remaining games in the campaign.
“I think in the next game we not looking much into making a statement but just to show how much we have come from when we started the Afcon Qualifiers and these World Cup Qualifiers.
“We just want to put our performance in place because we have something big coming up. We want to use these matches to build and grow as a team ahead of Afcon in Morocco,” Zemura told Zifa Media.
He also underscored the importance of maintaining consistency in the coming months.
Zimbabwe will host Rwanda before concluding their Group C fixtures in November.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe senior men’s football team conducted their first training session at the University of Johannesburg on Sunday ahead of their match against Rwanda.
All the players were engaged in full training, while midfielder Marshall Munetsi, who rejoined the team for the Rwanda clash, took part in the session. There are also no injury issues in the team.
