The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has rolled out the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) initiative in the Midlands Province, delivering football equipment to schools across seven districts in a move aimed at transforming grassroots football in the country.

The latest phase of the programme saw schools in Gokwe, Kwekwe, Mvuma, Gweru, Shurugwi, Mberengwa, and Zvishavane receive consignments of footballs. The distribution targets marginalised communities, with a focus on nurturing young talent, increasing access to the sport, and using football as a tool for social inclusion.

“This initiative is more than just handing out footballs it’s about giving every child, no matter where they are, the chance to dream, play, and grow through football,” said a ZIFA in a statement.

“We’re building the future of Zimbabwean football from the ground up.”

The F4S project is part of ZIFA’s broader strategy to expand football development to all parts of Zimbabwe, especially in hard-to-reach areas. The Association expressed its appreciation to FIFA for its continued support and reiterated its commitment to grassroots football development.
